Due to the contentiousness that results from these hardened attitudes, I find it very difficult to be countercultural on this issue, except in a private way.

Thanks for showing that there are other Catholics who actually appreciate the importance of Baptism.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14300599.post-1140046752914625132006-02-15T18:39:00.000-05:002006-02-15T18:39:00.000-05:00Thanks so much, all of you! I know that American Christmas will hereafter be transformed for me.

I look forward to meeting you some day and standing us both to a Bottle of the Best, even though by then your academic and personal renaissance will likely be so in flower you could buy and sell several of us.

My own baptized paganism was much softened by walking behind an old guy who was talking to his friend after Divine Liturgy. The friend was saying that if he knew the priest was on vacation and the mumbling deacon would be in charge, he wouldn't have come this week. The inspiring response was "Bah! I do not come to church just for the priest. I come to pray!" Evangelized my attitude, it did.

We never know who's listening.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14300599.post-1139889192932342982006-02-13T22:53:00.000-05:002006-02-13T22:53:00.000-05:00Happy Baptism day!Happy Baptism day!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00570196313847615587noreply@blogger.com
